Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant/Bookkeeping Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. This position offers a combination of remote and in-person work with a flexible schedule. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in business bookkeeping and/or accounting, with proficiency in QuickBooks Online. Experience with Fishbowl inventory systems is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities:

Financial Record Maintenance:

• Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks Online.

Financial Reporting:

• Generate and analyze balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
• Provide insights into financial trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement.

Bank Reconciliation:

• Reconcile bank statements and credit cards promptly to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Communication and Collaboration:

• Collaborate with the company owner in weekly meetings to discuss financial matters and provide necessary explanations.
• Maintain open communication and be available for phone calls throughout the week, responding promptly to inquiries.

Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in business bookkeeping and/or accounting.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is essential.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to explain financial concepts in a clear and concise manner.

Industry Specific:

• Experience working with an online retailer and understanding the unique financial aspects of e-commerce.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems, with experience in Fishbowl being a plus.

Availability:

• Flexible schedule with the ability to attend weekly meetings and respond to calls within a reasonable time frame. Some in-office time will be required but some work can be remote.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
