Employment Type: Part time (30-39 hours)

We are seeking:

We are currently seeking a qualified candidate for a second athletic trainer position for an already established secondary school contract in the Forest Hills district.

What You’ll Do:

This position assists with the supervision and coordination of the overall sports medicine program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to injury prevention, evaluation, management, and treatment of athletic injuries; training room rehabilitation when appropriate; education and counseling of student-athletes and athletics-related health care administration.

  • Help develop overall sports medicine program for the high school, including injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, educational programs, and counseling for student-athletes.
  • Provide athletic training services for the athletic department as cooperatively determined by the athletic training staff and athletic directors, including attendance at scheduled team practices.
  • Coordinating and scheduling physical therapy and medical referrals for student-athletes to determine their ability to practice and compete.
  • Prevention of athletic injuries through education and the application of preventative taping, braces, and functional screening techniques.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of practices to reduce the incidence of injury.
  • Design and supervise rehabilitation programs for athletic injuries under the guidance of the referring physician. Evaluate and recommend new techniques and equipment that would enhance the benefit of the sports medicine program.
  • Advise coaches and athletes on flexibility, strengthening, and conditioning programs to prevent injuries and optimize performance.
  • Maintain electronic medical records and correspondences for athletic injuries, treatments, rehabilitation, and physician referrals.
  • Effective communication while maintaining HIPAA compliance
  • Ability to communicate effectively when talking to patients, medical professionals, staff, and families.

What You Have

  • Athletic Trainer, Certified (ATC)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Completion of a CAATE-approved athletic training education program or education equivalent
