Job Title: Clinical and Documentation QA Coordinator
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Department: Quality Assurance
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt; Regular Full Time
Reports to: QA Manager
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the QA Manager, the Clinical and Documentation QA Coordinator (QA Coordinator) is responsible for the timely completion and management of Century's Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Improvement (QI) processes to include clinical documentation evaluation, addenda request tracking, and quantifiable training and remediation recommendations.
Responsibilities:
•Performs clinical evaluations on medical and trauma transports (BLS, ALS, and SCT) in accordance with Century's QA/ QI processes
•Ensures quality clinical care, operational efficiency, and compliance within approved procedures and guidelines
•Identifies, tracks, and develops evidence-based proposals for global training initiatives and in-service educational opportunities
•Maintains communication platform and transparency within QA/QI team and QA Manager regarding expectations and responsibilities
•Acts as liaison between field crews and departments such as Operations, Business Development, and Medical Directors
•Ensures QA targets are met via monitoring of QA completion rates, outstanding QA responses, and addenda requests
•Researches and resolves communication "bottlenecks" between field staff and QA/QI team
  • Other duties as assigned
General Requirements
  • Accurately completes detailed forms, projects, and reports as assigned
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, willingness to learn, and strong team player
  • Dependable (attendance, quality of work, timeliness, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
•High school diploma or equivalent
•Valid State of Florida EMT, Paramedic or Registered Nurse (RN) license
•Minimum of two (2) years recent Quality Assurance / Quality Improvement experience in a healthcare setting
•Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•Excellent verbal and written communication - including interpersonal and relationship building skills
•Ability to read, write, and understand English
•Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and track multiple projects/tasks
Preferred Qualifications
•Critical Care Paramedic certification
•Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
•Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
•Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
•Experience with Zoll RescueNet TabletPCR
•Knowledge of ambulance billing and coding processes
•Certified Ambulance Documentation Specialist (CADS)

While predominately an office position, this position will require some time working side-by-side with field employees. While working side-by-side with field personnel, the Clinical and Documentation QA Coordinator is encouraged to assist field personnel, as they are able, within their clinical scope of practice, and in accordance with the company's Medical Standard Operating Guidelines (MSOG).
Work Environment (Office Specific)
While working in the office environment, temperatures are typically comfortable and noise level is low to moderate.
  • Working Conditions: 85% in normal office conditions without extreme exposure, 15% exposure to heat/cold/rain
  • Essential Physical Tasks: 85% sit, walk under non-physically stressful conditions, 15% run, walk up and down stairs, ramps, across ground with unpredictable items in path
  • Heavy computer usage requiring frequent repetitive hand movements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to hear and communicate clearly in person and over the telephone
  • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information
  • Understand and respond to a diverse population
  • Utilize fine motor coordination, clear speech, and good visual acuity
While working in the field, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, in high, precarious places, in inclement weather conditions, and with hazards. Employees may potentially be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the field work environment could be high.
