Chisolm Creek Pet Resort is looking for an experienced handyman! Tasks include general building maintenance/groundskeeping, repair, HVAC, etc. the location manager and facilities department to keep our facilities in clean, safe, working conditions. A love of dogs is not required, but certainly a plus, as you are sure to encounter your fair share on our property. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. The goal is to maintain the building, grounds and play areas in the best possible condition, while keeping the safety of our dogs and staff first in mind.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repair of system facilities, including HVAC
• Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
• Perform repairs on gates/windows/fences
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
• Be able to spot and quickly address potential hazards to dog and staff safety
• Able to respond quickly to location manager and staff when a repair is needed urgently
• Perform basic carpentry to build and repair play structures/gates as needed
• Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
• Flexible schedule required - may need to work after hours, weekends depending on the situation

Skills

• Proven experience as maintenance technician
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
• Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime or after hours if needed
• High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus
