Cambridge Valley Machining is Hiring a CNC Operator 1 Near Cambridge, NY

Description

Cambridge Valley Machining provides comprehensive design through manufacturing services for startups, Fortune 500 businesses, and other domestic and global customers. CVM is a proud supplier within the Space and the Defense industries.

APPLY NOW if you want to be part of a team, using your common sense and attention to detail to help support the production of high quality products for our customers. Following training, here's what your workday will include:

  • Operating computer-controlled machines to perform one or more machine functions
  • Measuring dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to customer standards
  • Reviewing program specs or blueprints to determine and set machine operations and sequencing, finished work piece dimensions, or numerical control
  • Monitoring machine operation and control panel displays, and comparing readings to specs
  • Documenting actions by completing production logs, quality logs, inspection sheets and accurate time cards
  • Controlling coolant systems by coordinating with supervisor or project leader
  • Listening to machines during operation to detect unwanted sounds and reporting potential issues to supervisor
  • Stacking or unloading finished items or placing items on conveyor systems or in shipping area
  • Completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, and performing simple troubleshooting
  • Supporting 5S by cleaning machines, tooling, parts, and all associated work areas
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED

CVM operates three shifts, Mon-Fri. Our primary hiring focus is 2nd and 3rd shift, with shift differential applicable, with limited openings on 1st shift. 

Must be a citizen of or person admitted lawfully for permanent residence into the United States.

This is a DOD requirement for receiving technical information and distributing.
