About CIIB:

We are a private practice, multi-specialty outpatient clinic based in Normal, Illinois dedicated to providing expert, patient-centered care for balance and dizziness disorders, pelvic pain and dysfunction, sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, and other orthopedic and chronic pain conditions.

We've been serving our community for over 15 years! We offer a range of physical therapy, diagnostic audiology examinations, and massage therapy services.

Physical Therapy Aide Position:

We're looking for a Physical Therapy Aide to assist in the day-to-day functions of the office and clinic to ensure:

1) patients are seen in a timely manner

2) medical records are handled appropriately, and

3) office and clinical staff are well supported in maintaining their performance standards

This position may be a good fit for students seeking entry-level healthcare experience or professionals seeking a long-term purpose filled position.

Job Responsibilities:

- Start patient visits by gathering information for documentation or starting patients on exercise equipment or warm up stretches.

- Educate patients on home exercise program and issue supplies accordingly.

- Supervise patients during independent exercise, work outs, and ensure safety.

- Keep rooms stocked and treatment areas clean/safe.

- Set up treatment modalities (i.e. stim, dry needling, or ultrasound) per supervising therapist.

- Escort patients to and from the front desk.

- Keep printed home exercise program copies updated.

- Complete chart prep and chart review procedures to gather import patient data prior to patients' appointments.

- Manage patient "drop off" list weekly.

- Email patient video files through HIPAA compliant method as requested by patients and providers.

- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.

Experience/Qualifications:

- Previous experience working in healthcare or rehabilitation settings is preferred but not required.

- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is a plus.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills .

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to self-start and lend a hand where help is needed.

- Ability to adapt to changes throughout the day if necessary.

- Commitment to confidentiality of patient information in accordance to applicable laws.

- Passion for helping others and creating personal connections with patients.

Job Performance Standards/Goals:

- Patient treatments are performed as scheduled.

- Patients are kept safe (no injuries, falls on the way to/from therapy).

- Documentation is started/completed concurrently with appointments.

- Treatment areas are stocked up with supplies, equipment is clean and area is safe.

- Down time, cancelation, no-show time is used appropriately for work-related tasks only.

- Computers in clinic are used for work-related needs only.

- Boundaries are maintained in respect to the organizational structure.

- Patient privacy and confidentiality is maintained in accordance to HIPPA guidelines.

- Clinical and admin staff are supported to reach their performance standards.

Job Physical Demands:

This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy weights, and work with patients of varying physical abilities.
