Youth Development Professional - Workforce

The Youth Development Professional is primarily responsible for assisting with the planning, development, and implementation of youth workforce programming that will help prepare teens, and younger members, to succeed after high school through post-secondary education options, career exploration, workforce readiness, internship/apprenticeship experiences, and other related initiatives. The Youth Development Professional - Workforce will also work toward developing a positive mentoring relationship with members while effectively communicating Club rules and ensuring the safety of members.

This position requires the ability to work with children and teens from different backgrounds and previous experience with youth is preferred.

Member Engagement

· Exercise authority in problems relating to Club members; utilize guidance and discipline plan

· Participate in special Club programs and/or events

· Independently manage a group of members (15-25)

· Perform special assignments or other duties a deemed necessary or important by supervisor

Professionalism

· Arrive on time according to the staff schedule

· Appear dressed in a professional manner

· Be a positive role model inside the Club and beyond

· Support fellow staff in meeting program goals, objectives, and outcomes

· Form meaningful, safe, and positive relationships with all youth and their parents, regardless of their background

· Report any employee misconduct to the Coordinator of Operations and/or Executive Director immediately

· Participate in staff performance evaluations and staff meetings

Facility Management

· Assist in keeping program supplies organized and maintained to limit wasted resources

· Assist in ensuring the overall Club environment is safe and inviting for all Club members and visitors

· Follow and assist with the daily & weekly cleaning schedule

Required Qualifications:

· 18 years of age or older and valid Driver’s License

· Ability to supervise and motivate Club members

· Proven ability to deliver programming

· Ability to manage Club resources and supervise programs and activities related to the Club’s mission and grant requirements

· Strong oral and written communication skills

· Self-starter, to work with minimal supervision

· Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment, tact, and discretion

· Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of partners

· Able to meet deadlines

Skills/ Knowledge Preferred

· Knowledge of PC and/or Mac computers and software including Adobe and MS Office; ability to learn new programs as needed

· 1 years of experience in youth development and supervision

· Experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds
