Description

Job Summary:

Assist the BSA Officer with overseeing all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) program management. Assist in maintaining the BSA Policy/Procedures and BSA Risk Assessment. Address any new or changing regulations and communicate their impacts to the affected business units.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the BSA department. Ensure that all department monitoring, investigation, data validation, reporting and recordkeeping functions are performed.
  • Act as an escalation point for the BSA department in order to resolve issues (cases, alerts, etc.).
  • Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variables.
  • Using software and reports, identify higher risk customers for enhanced due diligence.
  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate and complete records on the Bank’s high-risk customers including documentation of enhanced monitoring.
  • Provide in-house training and mentoring for new team members, including the Verafin system, the Bank’s BSA/OFAC Policy, and the BSA department’s procedures.
  • Ensure the training of all affected management and staff within the company regarding their particular roles in BSA/OFAC compliance.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of procedures and internal controls within the BSA department and business lines. Propose enhancements as needed.
  • Ensure the timely screening of the Bank’s customer base in response to FinCEN bi-weekly 314(a) requests and the maintenance of records supporting results in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Accurate and timely reporting of all regulatory reporting such as, but not limited to, SAR and CTR filings.
  • Ensure the timely performance and documentation of the annual review of the Bank’s exempt customer list in compliance with FinCEN regulations.
  • Perform periodic quality assurance testing of the Bank’s AML software and rules to ensure accurate and effective monitoring. Prepare reports of testing results for management.
  • Be knowledgeable on all aspects of the Bank’s BSA Program and be prepared to answer questions from all departments and Bank staff regarding these requirements. Review, prepare, and implement policies and procedures to achieve compliance with regulatory requirement and laws
  • Manage, coach, evaluate and develop BSA staff.
  • Track performance and development of department through training, coaching, and regular evaluations.

Education/Licenses/Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a minimum of three years’ experience in a banking BSA/AML role.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in banking operations.

Pay Range: $75,000 - $110,000 per year. Pay range may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
