A. Rifkin Co. is Hiring a PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR - PART TIME Near Wilkes Barre, PA
SUMMARY Oversee all production activities to ensure quality and on-time delivery. Work with teams to optimize efficiency and performance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Coordinate and oversee production schedules and activities to ensure on time delivery.
Assign operators to various lines/operations to meet production schedules.
Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods, and operations.
Work with teams to solve problems and optimize efficiencies and performance.
Enforce policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with all safety procedures.
Perform and report on accident investigations.
Keep updated written and video documentation of how to manufacture all products including operations and assembly steps.
ESSENTIAL SUPERVISORY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in interviewing and selection of production employees
Assist in developing and overseeing new operator training and cross-training programs to build team skills.
Provide routine feedback to employees and works with Human Resources in coaching, counselling and discipline.
Facilitate communication to senior management regarding key employee issues and concerns, and other production related issues.
Hold employees accountable for meeting team work standards.
Lead by example demonstrating professionalism and respect for others at all times.

Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
Minimum 3 years of production management experience (sewing industry preferred but not required).
10 years overall manufacturing experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Exceptional verbal communication skills are required in order to effectively coach, train, and instruct subordinates.
Excellent interpersonal skills are required to effectively work with teams on building team skills including cooperation and respect for one another.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals and ability to measure and determine proper location of accessories to the bags.
REASONING ABILITY
Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written and oral form.

Above average communication skills with management and employees
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Solid understanding of Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodology and other continuous improvement methods.
