Job Title: Full-time Payroll and Benefits CoordinatorOrganization: 211 LA Location: San Gabriel, CA Overview:211 LA seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Coordinator to join our team. The Coordinator will be critical in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and administering employee benefits programs. Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees accurately and on time using the designated payroll system.
  • Verify timekeeping records and address discrepancies or issues in collaboration with HR and department managers.
  • Calculate and process adjustments, bonuses, and commissions as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax requirements.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper filing and documentation of payroll records.
  • Processing and issuing W-2 forms to employees.

Benefits Administration:

  • Assist in administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits.
  • Serve as employees' primary point of contact regarding benefits-related inquiries and assist as needed.
  • Coordinate open enrollment activities, including communication, enrollment processing, and data maintenance.
  • Liaising with insurance and savings providers on behalf of employees and the company.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity in the HRIS system.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Stay informed about changes in payroll and benefits regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and file required payroll and benefits reports, such as quarterly tax filings, ACA reporting, and 401(k) audits.
  • Assist in internal and external audits related to payroll and benefits.

General Support:

  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department as needed.
  • Assist in special projects and initiatives related to payroll, benefits, and HR operations.
  • Participate in cross-functional collaboration and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, human resources, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in payroll processing and benefits administration, preferably in a non-profit or similar environment. Union experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with payroll software and HRIS systems; experience with ADP Workforce Now, UKG Ready, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
