Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists in providing quality patient care and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the pharmacy.

Duties:

- Prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a pharmacist

- Perform medication inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and restocking medications

- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with prescription data entry

- Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing their inquiries and concerns

- Assist in the compounding of medications, including sterile preparations

- Prepare and label medications for distribution, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations

- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care

- Follow established protocols and procedures to maintain a clean and organized work environment

Skills:

- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations

- Proficiency in using pharmacy software systems for prescription processing and inventory management

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks efficiently

- Knowledge of compunding medications

- Familiarity with different dosage forms, including inhalation medications and IV infusions

- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written

- Ability to provide compassionate patient service in a healthcare setting

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent (additional certification or training preferred)

- Valid Pharmacy Technician license or certification (required)

- Previous experience in an acute care or hospital pharmacy setting (preferred)
