Job Description Summary: Performs complex work specializing in the compliance, oversight, analysis, and processing of functions associated with an ambulance billing revenue cycle. Execution of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) medical billing system with emphasis on ensuring funds due to the company are received from public and private insurance companies, including the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Bringing backlog and refund processes up to date and current.

• Processing CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service) refunds
• Assist in scrubbing ambulance claims for insurance and demographic data
• Address the billing backlog in a timely manner as not to miss filing deadlines
• Expedite the billing of secondary payers and the receipt of revenue
• Assist with payment posting functions
• Assisting with the current and initial billing processes
• Meet required and time sensitive deadlines with claim process

Skills Education & Experience:

• Three (3) years’ experience in medical billing, claim analysis, denial review, or secondary billing workflow functions or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
• Type with reasonable speed and accuracy
• Compose and prepare routine communication
• Knowledgeable of standard medical terms
• Interpret and apply rules, regulation, and written billing guidance
• Critical thinking skills in the assessment of claims, accounts, and payments;

Pay: From $18.62 per hour
