McChrystal Group is Hiring a Microsoft 365 Administrator Near Alexandria, VA

This is a role for a rock-star communicator with an ownership mentality looking for an opportunity to uplevel their experience, work with some of the best and brightest, and provide tangible impact, within a company on the cutting edge of their industry, invested in your growth.

The Microsoft 365 Administrator Associate will serve as the primary point of contact for all internal or external technology-related requests. Responsible for ensuring all staff support needs are resolved in a complete, correct, and timely manner through direct action or engagement of the correct internal or external resources. Proactive in identifying and providing technology training for new and existing staff. In addition, they will have the opportunity to assist with supporting B2B collaboration with clients who have contracted McChrystal Group and influence the development of McChrystal Group’s internal IT and Security processes and standards.

This is a full-time, in-person position located in Alexandria, VA.

Microsoft Administration

  • Configuration and Management: Able to configure, update and manage the organization's Microsoft 365 tenant applications, including services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business. 
  • User Management: Create, modify, and remove user accounts in alignment with HR processes. Assign appropriate licenses and permissions to users based on role requirements. Manage dynamic and assigned group policies for user licensing and permissioning.
  • Security and Compliance: Support and monitor security measures such as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Conditional Access Policies to ensure the organization's Microsoft 365 deployment complies with internal policies and regulatory requirements. 
  • Troubleshooting: Respond to and resolve issues onsite and remote related to Microsoft 365 services, working closely with Microsoft Support when necessary. 
  • Training: Provide onboarding and training to staff on effective use of Microsoft 365 tools and keep them updated about new features or changes. 
  • Integration: Work with other IT team members to integrate Microsoft 365 with other approved tools and systems, such as identity providers or enterprise content management systems. 
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor service health, usage patterns, and license consumption. Generate and present reports on these areas as required. 
  • Backup and Data Retention: Review and report compliance for Microsoft 365 retention and back up and confirm that configured services align with the organization's data retention policies. 
  • Update Management: Stay updated with the latest features and changes in the Microsoft 365 suite, ensuring smooth roll-outs and updates within the organization. 
  • Policy and Governance: Review and maintain written policies for the effective use of Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams governance, SharePoint site creation policies, and more. Establish and upgrade processes where appropriate.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Customer Experience: Provide on-site and remote support for end users, including client teams, with a focus on delivering an outstanding customer experience.
  • Client Events: Set up, maintain and troubleshoot AV equipment (displays, microphones, sound boards etc.) and building access.
  • Vendor Relationships: Serve as key point of contact and manage vendor relationships related to IT infrastructure and their budgets to maximize value, security, and efficiency for the business.
  • Continuous Improvement: Pursue continual professional development to stay ahead of trends to define and uphold best-in-class internal standards.
  • Communication: Respond to internal and external email and chats within an established time period. Serve as a brand ambassador in all service interactions, communicating effectively within the organization and with clients in both verbal and written formats.
  • Collaboration: Maintain open lines of communication with Internal Innovations Manager and broader Enterprise Solutions team, to include escalation when appropriate
  • Other related organizational and logistical duties as may be assigned 
Technical Background:
  • Microsoft Cloud Productivity and Modern Work Adoption experience 
  • Microsoft Intune configuration and management experience 
  • Azure AD (Active Directory) user and group administration experience
  • Microsoft Exchange online management experience 
  • Teams and SharePoint administration experience 
  • Security and Compliance Center experience 
  • Microsoft 365 Applications for Desktop Use on Mac and Windows PCs – Basic use, installation, and troubleshooting (including Project and Visio)
  • Fundamental Microsoft Certifications: MS-900, SC-900 
Preferred:
  • Windows 10, 11 support and troubleshooting experience
  • Mac OS support and troubleshooting experience 
  • Mobile device support, security, and troubleshooting for Android and iOS 
  • Configuration, deployment, and support of network routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewalls
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems, or other related disciplines
  • Microsoft Certifications – MS-700, MS-721, MS-100, MS-101, MS-102, MS-203; SC-400, SC-300 
  • TCP/IP network design and troubleshooting
  • DNS, and SSL certificates
