Teachers report directly to the Academic Director and are responsible for lesson planning, classroom instruction, educational assessment, group work, crisis intervention and transportation. Teachers are expected to provide a safe, individualized educational setting for youth. As a group, the educational program staff are expected to provide a comprehensive educational program to meet each individual student’s special needs. Teachers facilitate student improvement in self-esteem, social skills and ability to function as a group.

LEA is a long-term residential treatment center in Salt Lake City, Utah and work with teens ages 14-18. Minimum Qualifications

Certified to teach in the State of Utah

• Completed Bachelor’s degree (4-years) in education, special education or related field
• Exceptional Student Certification preferred
• Two years experience in direct classroom teaching / service preferred
• Teachers will adhere to the training and competencies required for the position as listed on the last page and understand that the list is subject to change.
• Duties and Responsibilities
• Plan and implement daily classroom lessons to meet individual student needs
• Provide subject area (English, Social Studies, Math, Science, Language, Theatre, Art, Dance, Music, Others TBD) instruction for students grades 6-12
• Provide disclosure documents and course outlines classes taught and requested

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
