Hiller Measurements is Hiring a Designer Near Austin, TX
Your primary responsibility is to interpret design requirements, create and develop schematic drawings, wire lists, and BOMs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and complete cable harness designs that meet regulatory standards, industry standards, and customer specifications. Additionally, you will support procurement and manufacturing activities by providing technical assistance and design documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Designs cables and interconnect diagrams per engineering design.
- Uses CAD to model 2D or 3D components.
- Reviews engineering specifications.
- Completes projects by supporting production requirements during the assembly process.
- Takes ownership of goals, project schedules, and milestones.
- Effectively diagnose technical issues and propose reasonable solutions.
- Follow and implement design standards.
- Ability to document and follow the process flow on the Engineering Change Request (ECN) and submits for revision.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient in CAD modeling software; Zuken, Creo, or Draftsight preferred.
- Knowledge of circuit design and analysis preferred.
- Passion for learning about and working with test and measurement industry technologies.
- Quickly learns applicable technology, systems and commercial off the shelf components.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong documentation and writing skills.
- Multitask between concurrent projects.
- Desires to continually take on new and challenging tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Associate degree in engineering preferred.
- Engineering co-op or intern experience preferred.
- Must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident (due to company contracts falling under the ITAR).
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
