CapSpecialty is seeking a QA Specialist who will support quality assurance efforts by ensuring all rating plans are implemented completely and accurately in the company systems and spreadsheets. Working closely with actuarial and IT staff, this position will formulate and execute test plans, test reports and documentation of system rating and downstream data.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test plans to verify the complete and accurate rating in company systems and spreadsheets. Generate test reports including results of testing and software stability, including recommendations concerning the release of the product.
  • Assess and estimate test requirements based on use case or other requirement documentation. Prepare test approach, plans, and procedures. Execute tests and identify, communicate, and track issues to closure.
  • Provide support for, and lead when appropriate, other actuarial functions such as filing preparation, rating plan documentation and monthly monitoring reports.

None.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical problem solver.
  • Ability to respond rapidly to changing work conditions and expectations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams.
  • Able to follow tasks through to their completion and to monitor progress once implemented, ensuring processes are followed correctly.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or previous experience with insurance rating and use of insurance pricing tools.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • May be required to lift up to 15 lbs at times.
