The Role:

As a Hedge Fund Investment Due Diligence Associate Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting manager selection, investment due diligence, and related Hedge Fund services. Your contributions will directly impact our clients investment decisions and the success of Albournes Hedge Fund Initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

Fund Investment Due Diligence (IDD)

  • Collaborate with the Head of Hedge Fund IDD Research and other colleagues to maintain comprehensive manager reviews and investment due diligence for selected funds within assigned strategies and regions (if applicable).
  • Assist in shaping and refining the lists of funds over time, ensuring a deep understanding of IDD funds within the specified strategy.
  • Support HFIDD colleagues by participating in research, analysis, calls, meetings, note writing, and material updates in the Hedge Fund Database (HFDB).
  • Foster coordination across the firm, collaborating with colleagues covering related strategies to enhance the quality of HFIDD and other reports and recommendations.
  • Contribute to the production of clear and concise investment due diligence reports and recommendations for client presentations.
  • Engage in site visits, analyze documentation, review performance data, and conduct telephonic or personal reference checks.
  • Adhere to company best practices in Hedge Fund investment due diligence.
  • Assist in the ongoing monitoring of IDD funds within the specified strategy to ensure the accuracy of existing ratings.
  • Regularly review fund performance, documentation, and other relevant data.
  • Identify any discrepancies or changes that may impact the funds rating.
  • Provide timely feedback on reports and breaches.

Strategy Analysis and Communication

  • Collaborate in producing and maintaining research documents on the extranet. These documents outline the key attributes, trends, and drivers of a specific strategy.
  • Ensure that white papers, Chief Investment Officer (CIO) notes, and Albourne Trend Views (ATV) are accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to clients.
  • Identify and explore additional tools or analytics that can improve the accuracy of fund ratings and enhance our communication of opinions.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements and best practices to continuously enhance our research capabilities.
  • Work closely with colleagues to communicate Albournes house opinions on specific strategies or funds to clients.
  • Address client inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Provide follow-up support as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Keep our internal database updated.
  • Meet deadlines from both management and clients.
  • Join weekly group calls.
  • Support marketing, portfolio tasks, and other projects.
  • Help with Albourne initiatives and represent us at events.
  • Report potential conflicts to compliance.

What were looking for:

  • University graduate
  • 1-3 years of experience in the industry or similar
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Relevant work experience with knowledge or experience of private markets preferred but not required
  • Proactive self-starter, proficient time management and multi-tasking
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
  • Systems literacy (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Travel (frequent)
  • (Optional) Possession of or advanced progression towards relevant professional qualifications (i.e. CFA, CAIA)
  • Regulatory registration (dependent on regional requirements)
