Medical Assistants assist in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physicianin providing care to their patients. Their duties include recording and updating medical histories and contact information in patient files, scheduling patient appointments and performing standard care procedures like drawing blood, checking vitals or collecting lab samples.
Essential Functions
- Scribing visits for providers, dictating notes with providers in EMR system.
- Returning patient calls.
- Setup and close down of exam rooms and bringing back patients.
- Entering patient demographics and scheduling patients into practice management system.
- Managing patient charts for prescriptions, diagnosis, medical records, patient correspondence.
- Assist physician with all dermatological procedures.
- Instrument auto-clave duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
