Hillsdale County Medical Care is Hiring a Janitor/Floor Finisher Near Hillsdale, MI
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Janitors will be under the director of the Environmental Services Director. Uniform will be required. The main responsibility of this job is to perform the major floor cleaning and refinishing functions in accordance with the standard procedures of the housekeeping department. Will mop, wax, buff according to the schedule, and in any other areas assigned.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Scrub, strip, and refinish floors as assigned.
- Burnish as assigned.
- Do extra cleaning projects as assigned.
- Responsible for baseboards and wall trim as well as floors.
- Perform duties of 3rd shift janitor in their absence.
- Clean all equipment used every time it is used and maintain as needed.
- Observe and report the need for repairs to equipment, furniture, building, and fixtures.
- In case of fire or other tasks that may be assigned.
- Performs any other tasks that may be assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Know how to scrub, strip, and refinish floors.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Knowledge of emergency repair.
PHYSICAL ABILITY TO:
Lift up to 100 pounds.
Push and pull wheeled carts up to 300 pounds.
Ability to operate burnisher.
Ability to communicate with residents and employees.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works with chemicals having odors.
