How You'll Make an Impact

The primary responsibility of the Senior Cloud Engineer will be assisting cloud engineering lead with maintenance and security of AWS, Azure, and other cloud environments. Additional duties could include local infrastructure support where applicable. Strong problem solving and communication skills required to work both independently and with a small, dedicated team.

Responsibilities:

• Creating and maintaining secure cloud computing resources for the company
• Advising and implementing cloud computing best practices
• Secure, administer, and maintain physical and virtual Windows/Linux machines where needed
• Serves as reviewer for others in specific area of expertise
• Provides one-on-one or small group training and information
• Successfully leads Information Systems projects
• Mentors and reviews work of more junior staff, and provides feedback in area of expertise
• Advises IS staff and management in matters related to area of expertise
• Performs other administrative and technical duties as assigned

• Demonstrated technical ability to take on this level of requirements
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Able to competently apply advanced Information System skills in a timely and effective manner
• Advanced system troubleshooting skills
• Advanced knowledge of common Information Systems
• Advanced system administration skills
• Advanced knowledge of specialized Information Systems
• Capable of administering large scale Information Systems

US Citizenship or the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent degree plus 3 years' relevant experience from date of relevant degree
• AWS and other cloud certifications a plus
• Minimum 1 years in AWS cloud computing. Azure a plus.
• Understand the concepts of infrastructure as code design
• Experience with AWS and the AWS API/CLI
• Experience with tools such as Terraform, Ansible
• Experience with Git workflows and GitHub
• Experience deploying high available databases and services (example: ELK stack)
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes a plus
• Knowledge of security frameworks. NIST SP 800-171 knowledge a plus
• Some travel may be required
