Registered Nurse opportunity with a Multi-Physician Orthopedic Practice - Corpus Christi, TX

RN with previous Orthopedic surgical or hospital floor experience preferred but not mandatory. Recent graduates will be considered on a case by case basis.

Duties include primarily working in the office setting assisting the Physician/Surgeon with patient care

The tasks and responsibilities include:

· Reviews all labs, EKGs, MRIs, cultures, etc.

· Calls patients with “nurse will call with results.”

· Schedules all home health (particularly for post op patients)

· Reviews all home health orders and notes. Forwards HH certifications to biller for billing

· Acts as physician liaison for home health patient care issues

· Completes disability, work status, and FMLA forms

· Prepares the schedule for clinic

· Runs clinic along side an MA (rooming patients, sending orders, assisting with injections/aspirations, etc.)

· Sends all postoperative medications, including narcotics.

· Completes EHR tasks ESP: Admin, Orders, Clinical Documents

· Close physician encounters, add charges/billing codes, review for typographical errors, etc.

· Oversee medical assistants and surgical coordinator specifically for the designated physicians clinic functions/expectations. Act as mentor and resource for medical/nursing issues (this does not include managerial aspects such as discipline, absenteeism, etc.)

· Act as a resource for Physician Assistant in clinic functions/expectations.

· Works closely with clinic scheduler (appropriateness of patient, flow of schedule, etc.)

· Interact with management (any clinic function issues, staffing issues, billing issues, DME issues, etc.)

· Interact with hospital personnel (patient care, joint commission compliance, etc.)

· Identify areas of improvement and assist with solutions (i.e. DME, patient care protocols, etc.)

· Assists and addresses concerns/duties from physician as needed.

· Represents physician in all aspects of daily functions.
