Purpose:

The purpose of the nurse aide is to provide daily care as identified by the resident, family and interdisciplinary team under physician’s orders in the plan of care. The Nurse Aide reports to the Director of Nursing or designee.

· Must be at least 18 years of age unless pre-authorized by the Administrator.

· Must be free of committing any felony or misdemeanor if the act falls in the area of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of funds.

Job Duties:

·Accompanies residents to medical appointments

Performs any combination of following duties in care of residents under direction of nursing and medical staff.

· Answers signal lights, bells, or intercom system to determine residents’ needs.

· Transports residents, using wheelchair or wheeled cart

· Changes bed linens, run errands, direct visitors, and answers telephone as needed.

· Cleans, sterilizes, stores, prepares, and issues supplies as needed.

· May be assigned other duties.
