Job Summary:

The Boring Mill Setup Operator is in charge of operating a manual or a computer numerical control (CNC) boring mill. You will program, setup and produce machined parts according to established parameters and specifications. At times they may perform inspections of parts, machines and/or work area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to program, setup, and run manual and/or CNC boring mills. We will train the right candidate provided he/she has some relevant experience)
• Ability to select correct fixturing and own tooling needs while maintaining tool life
• Select the correct speeds and feeds
• Must have G code experience
• Performs own quality checks prior to Quality Department review
• Calculate dimensions and tolerance using measuring instruments
• Program from Master Cam or similar software a plus
• Program by entering instructions, calculating requirements (including basic match, geometry, and trigonometry), and part programs.
• Keep area organized
• Process and complete shop documents to ensure accuracy for cost accounting of jobs and hours of work
• Works closely with co-workers and management
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Experience with Master Cam or similar software preferred.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Produce minimal to no scrap, quality and attention to detail is a must!
• Follows instructions and responds to management direction.
• Excellent attendance and a positive demeanor.
• Requires good oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with others.

Working Environment:

Work is performed in a shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud with machines running. The shop environment frequently contains different levels of hot and cold as well as frequent exposure to dust, metals, and oil particles. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual would encounter while performing the essential functions of this position.
