Building Relationships Through Trees
Job Summary:
Provide integrated pest management (IPM) on client properties using spray, injection, and other equipment. IPM products generally include pesticides, fertilizers, bio-stimulants, and potentially others as needed.
Identifying tree Species.
Work outside in all weather conditions. Drive and maintain your application vans and application equipment.
Provide excellent customer service, Communicating and educating clients about PHC techniques and services. Clients include private homeowners/residences, townhome associations, and commercial properties.
Use research-driven application processes.Benefits
Education and Experience:
Helpful: Completed or in progress bachelor’s or associate degree in urban forestry, environmental science, biology, horticulture, or another related natural resource field.
Preferred: Experience and/or courses in tree species identification, common tree pest and pathogen identification, and basic plant biology.
High school or GED diploma.
Required: Experience as a pesticide applicator in tree care or a related field.
Certfications, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid driver’s license required.
MN Commercial Pesticide Applicator License Categories A, E,
ISA Certification is a plus but not required.
Other Qualifications:
At least 2 years' experience with Plant Health Care.
Passionate about the outdoors and protecting our Urban Forests.
Clear and professional communication skills with clients and Birch Tree Care team.
Independent and creative with problem solving skills.
Strong work ethic, the ability to work efficiently, independently, and be accountable to your results.
General working knowledge of Android or iPhone mobile devices (tablets or cell phones are used for work orders and daily routes).

Position duration:
Plant health care is inherently seasonal work. Exact start date are dependent on the timing of spring and the duration of the growing season. There is opportunity for fulltime work.
Beginning and ending work along with the end and start of a school year (approx. May-August) is a possibility. Part time work may be available earlier in the spring or into the fall in a scenario like this.
