General Laborer/Machine Operator
General Description
The Laborer/Operator position performs all tasks involved in the production of the company’s products. This includes, but is not limited to; metal sheets, rods, coils, rounds, and beams. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Secondly, The Laborer/Operator employee will be utilizing heavy equipment, both floor-level and overhead including, but not limited to; cranes, mills, saws, shears, forklifts, Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) machines. This position also is responsible for the general maintenance and cleanliness of the warehouse and machines. Lastly the Laborer/Operator employee is responsible for all other duties assigned.
Work Schedule
Requires working weekday mornings and afternoons. Some early mornings, weekends and evenings may be required. Overtime is paid time-and-a-half.

Physical Requirements
Agility: The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, or legs to perform job tasks.
Physical Strength: The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects using hands, arms, back, abdominal muscles, shoulders, legs, or a combination of these muscle groups. Required to lift up to 60lbs unassisted.
Protective Equipment: The ability to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions including but not limited to; steel-toed boots, hard hats, gloves, goggles, glasses, ear protectors and clothing.
Stamina: The ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time. This may include performing repetitive or strenuous tasks as well as standing and sitting for long periods.
Visual Acuity: The ability to see details (e.g., letters, numbers, codes, color, symbols, marks, labels, signs, video displays) clearly to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
Proper Lifting Techniques: The ability to properly lift heavy objects or equipment. This includes the knowledge of correct bending and lifting techniques as needed to properly position and use one's hands, feet, legs, arms, and back to lift objects or equipment, and to push, pull, and carry heavy objects.
Hand-Eye Coordination: The ability to coordinate one's eyes with one's fingers, wrists, or arms to move, carry, or manipulate objects or to perform other job-related tasks.
Work Conditions: The ability to perform job activities, with appropriate intermittent relief where applicable, under difficult work conditions such as in extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, while exposed to constant/intermittent sounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Climbing: The ability to climb, work, and carry items up and down ladders, railroad cars and uneven surfaces.
Manual Dexterity: The ability to make quick, accurate, skillful, coordinated movements of one hand, one hand in coordination with its arm, or two hands to grasp, place, move, or assemble objects.
