Job Description

Upholdings seeks a Property Assistant to join the property management team and aid in operations. The Property Assistant will respond to property and tenant needs to ensure property operations maintain continuity and efficiency on Saturday and Sunday and while the property management office is closed. The property assistance will ensure the property is well-maintained and in compliance with all applicable regulations. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask, and be willing to learn. In a Community Holdings service-enriched housing environment, these activities are important as increased opportunities for our Service Partners to further engage with Tenants.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Relief Property Supporter will respond to property and tenant needs to ensure property operations maintain continuity and efficiency on Saturday and Sunday and while the property management office is closed
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with tenants, community organizations, and local government officials
  • Assist with the management of property maintenance and repair activities.
  • Responsibilities Provide information and customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and the public on the weekend and during times when the property management office is closed
  • Respond to tenant inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Act as liaisons between on-site managers or tenants and owners
  • Conduct regular inspections of the property to ensure that it is well-maintained and secure, and/or determine the necessity of repairs or maintenance.
  • Coordinate and supervise the maintenance and repair of the property, ensuring that all work is done to high standards and in compliance with applicable regulations
  • Enforce lease documents, addendums, and guest policy while documenting all visitors, guests and vendors at the property
  • Support maintenance cleaning staff by performing janitorial services in the office and community spaces including, sweeping, mopping, window washing, pressure washing, dumping trash cans, cleaning bathrooms (sinks, floors, & toilets), stocking toilet paper, paper towel and maintenance and cleaning supplies
  • Support property management staff by organizing paper files, making copies, organizing documents and office supplies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Property Manager

Minimum Qualification

Some experience with Special Populations, including working with persons who were previously homeless; or who have mental health, developmental disabilities, physical challenges, or who are aging, is preferred.

  • High School diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in property management or a related field.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented and able to multitask.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and regulations is a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Required Skills and Abilities

Strong English-speaking skills are required. Must develop proficiency on the computer in utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite as well as the Google Suite.

The person, as part of their duties, must be able to work together in a team and is expected to set up tables, chairs, and electronics. They will need to bend and lift and to be involved in cleaning both floors and other materials as a part of their duties. They will lead activities and will be expected to speak at public events as a coordinator of some activities.

Must maintain an active cell phone and email address at all times and make sure that they can be contacted and all information provided is current at all times.

Code of Conduct

A person in this position will be required to follow a specific code of conduct to protect themselves and the company. The person in this position will need a great deal of sound judgment and must be able to manage multiple personal roles within the building.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
