Large multi-family apartment complex is looking for a Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:
We have an immediate need for a full-time Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician preps apartments for new move ins, troubleshoots, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance on systems within the building by performing the duties listed below. This position requires mechanical, plumbing, and electrical aptitudes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to troubleshoot electrical wiring problems, installing fixtures such as lights, fans, outlets/switches, and general making repairs
• Basic HVAC knowledge on troubleshooting, repairing resident ac/heat units
• Perform plumbing repairs, corrective and preventive maintenance, using tools and equipment as required.
• Repairing and installing shelves and cabinets
• Patching and painting textured drywall
• Make rounds during the day to dispose of bulk trash and keep facility clean
• Ensures compliance with department safety and quality standards
• Ability to effectively manage and respond to emergency situations
• Must be willing to be on-call for emergencies, on rotating schedule

Qualifications:

• Must have a current valid driver's license, as well as a vehicle and basic tools

• Must have 1-2 years of work-related experience in Facilities/Multi-family Maintenance

• General knowledge of carpentry, drywall repair, intermediate electricity, painting, plumbing and HVAC (EPA preferred)

• Must be able to move/lift heavy objects (up to 70 lbs.), climb vertical ladders, work at heights and be proficient in the use of common hand and power tools

• Must have a sense of urgency and needs to work independently

• Must have a high school diploma or GED
