SUMMARY

The Senior Lead Caregiverprovides personal care and Activities of Daily Living to residents of CapriCommunities LLC, with adherence to organizational and regulatory requirements.Residents may reside in RCAC, CBRF or Memory Care settings. Also provides first level of support anddirection to caregiving staff members.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Adheres to the written Resident Care Plan to:
    1. Assist RCAC/CBRF/Memory Care residents in maintaining their greatest independence with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, toileting and nutritional needs. Also provides assistance with preparing meals, laundry and maintaining a clean, safe physical environment.
    2. Assist residents with mobility and transfers.
    3. Assist residents with medical administration and maintains related reporting requirements.
  2. Perform delegated tasks as instructed by the Executive Director, Assistant Executive Director, RN or Nurse Manager or Life Enrichment Specialist. Assists with paperwork, record keeping and staff organization:

a. Assist with scheduling assignments in OnShift asneeded or as directed by management.

b. Assist with phone screens and/or Caregiver interviewsas directed by management.

c. Coaching and counseling Carestaff as needed withappropriate documentation for management review.

d. Assist nursing team with administrative tasks asrequested.

e. Re-training Carestaff as needed as directed bymanagement.

  1. Perform acceptable standard healthcare practiceswhile promoting residents emotional well-being and ability.
  2. Assist with housekeeping duties in resident or common areas (vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, cleaning, etc.) as directed.
  3. Observe and report resident’s condition and safety hazards to RN, Nurse Manager or Executive Director in a timely manner.
  4. Supports the care team in assisting or leading assigned activities, impromptu and scheduled.
  5. Document observations and activity participation in an accurate, complete and timely manner. Notify Executive Director or RN or Nurse Manager of resident or staff complaints or issues; provide communication to the family or resident as directed.
  6. Protect residents’ health information according to HIPPA policies and procedures and federal and state law and regulations.
  7. Maintain knowledge of State Regulations and updates for DHS 83 and 89 (as appropriate for RCAC, CBRF and Memory Care communities).
  8. Attend all mandatory Lead meetings, staff meetings and/or in-service training opportunities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does haveleadership responsibilities but does not have direct supervisoryresponsibilities except in the absence of the Executive Director. This positiondoes participate in the performance management functions of the staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily. Therequirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/orability required.

  • High Schooleducation, plus:

o One year experience as a personal aide, Caregiver or equivalent life experience

o Certification ofCNA or MA completion (preferred)

  • Reliability andFlexibility in Scheduling - Demonstrates excellent attendance; must be able towork holidays and weekends and cover as required by resident needs.
  • Communication andOrganizational Skills - Possesses excellent written and verbal communicationskills in order to communicate effectively with staff, residents and familymembers. Possesses efficient organizational skills necessary to prioritize and completeassigned tasks.
  • Energy andProfessionalism - Ability to demonstrate patience, understanding, tolerance andemotional/physical ability and experience to meet the daily needs of ourresidents.
  • GovernmentCompliance – Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with all buildingregulations and Department of Health and Family Services requirements. Maintainsall training requirements as directed by DHS 83 and/or 89. Ensures that allfair housing standards are met at all times. Complies with OSHA, Workers’ Compensation, and any other reportingrequirements
  • ResidentSatisfaction – Provides, promotes, and requires high-quality residentrelations. Reviews and/or resolvescomplaints, and alerts Executive Director or RN Administrator of any unusualactivities or problems.
