POSITION: GRADUATE ASSISTANT

CLASSIFICATION: PART-TIME / STIPEND

WORK HOURS:

25-29 HOURS/WEEK

MONDAY-FRIDAY, 8:00AM-4:00AM

SUMMER EMPLOYMENT IS REQUIRED

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

* Bachelor's degree required; current enrollment in one of the degrees within the graduate

program in Higher Education at Southeastern University

* Education Major Preferred

CHAIR, DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATOR PREPARATION AND LEADERSHIP UNDERGRADUATE

ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR, COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Undergraduate Chair, assist with the coordination, and preparation of the student teaching internship program and assisting faculty, staff and students under this department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Administrative office experience

* Demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills

* Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently and as a team member

* Strong communication skills; both written and spoken

* Experience in working with a diverse population of students

* Strong basic productivity software skills including, Google Suites, Microsoft Office

Suites, and Canva

* Strong Christian character demonstrated in all aspects of life

DUTIES AND OTHER JOB-RELATED ACTIVITIES:

* Maintain and support the policies and procedures of the Graduate Assistants Handbook

* Keep office documents organized and functional

* Assist the department chair and program coordinator(s)

* Assist with classroom teaching and assessment grading; Strong APA skills required

* Update all student files for student teaching as needed throughout the semester

* Organize, research, and update all event information, as well as attend

* Knowledge of Library Database and Tools required

* Reproduce or generate classroom presentation materials

* Assist with scheduling and administrative paperwork

* Maintain enrollment and advising master spreadsheet

* Assist the department faculty with advising

* Attend mandatory COE meetings and events

* Other duties as assigned by the Chair or Administrative Coordinator
