About Workplace
Our Workplace business unit prepares and serves food for a variety of Bay Area companies and institutions. Ingredients are carefully selected from organic, local, independent farms - prioritizing purchasing from BIPOC and women-owned purveyors. Prepared to satisfy refined palettes and a diverse range of dietary sensitivities and preferences, our nourishing meals aim to delight employees. Our Workplace business unit offers multiple food program solutions to meet our clients' needs.
Position Overview
The Snack & Drink (S&D) Operations Manager will manage the Snack and Drink warehouse and team. Additionally, they will assist in further development and implementation of systems. The S&D Operations Manager will ensure the snack and drink offerings consist of delicious products that are organic, locally sourced and prioritize sourcing from woman and BIPOC owned businesses. They will also support the company's vision and goals, by aiming to decrease waste by focusing on bulk and in-house products, rather than single-serve packaged products.
We are looking for an ambitious leader, with attention to detail, who will bring operational expertise that helps enhance our current snack and drink programs. Additionally, they will be certain to provide excellent hospitality, with nourishment and joy at companies throughout the SF Bay Area. This position reports directly to the Workplace Hospitality Manager.
Responsibilities
    • Manage and further develop the Snacks and Drink department and team
    • Maintain the database for snack and drink offerings including SKU's, vendors, pricing, etc.
    • Coordinate and oversee all ordering and receiving systems for all snack and drink (including in-house product) at HQ and client sites
    • Oversee inventories for all snack and drink products and smallwares at the S&D Warehouses and client sites
    • Develop and enforce merchandising standards specific to each client site, including merchandising smallwares, equipment, and product pars to ensure there is no lag in service.
    • Create safe micro kitchens which include thoughtful organization, diligent sanitation and safety standards
    • Provide regular onsite support at client locations to ensure all standards of quality are being met
    • Develop individual snack and drink client programs with Operational Managers and Executive Chefs
    • Manage and develop Staff and Operations associated with snack and drink program (i.e. S&D Drivers, Warehouse & Workplace Attendants)
    • Adhere to snack and drink budget, and make adjustments to offerings or operations to adhere to budget
    • Further develop and maintain the SOP's related to the snack and drink program.
    • Direct operations specific to snack and drink for client launches - including but not limited to creating initial product lists (based on client and client community preferences), developing smallwares and equipment list for the client site, participating in recruiting for new positions, creating initial orders and pars, leading snack and drink install and initial training
    • Work directly with third party vendors towards increased bulk packaging, to reduce waste and single use products whenever possible, as well as incorporate new client product requests to their ordering system.
    • Ongoing research and outreach to innovative and seasonal snack and drink producers and products to continually enhance and improve Fare's snack and drink offering focused on minimal/zero waste, companies with social missions, products sourcing organically, etc.
    • Manage all systems related to snack and drink programs - create or identify tools or systems to streamline operations
    • Ongoing analysis and reporting on snack and drink performance; program adjustments accordingly
    • Prepare reports related to the snack and drink program in collaboration with Catering Operations Manager
Qualifications & Requirements
    • Excellent understanding of snack and drink category
    • Highly organized and detail oriented
    • Deep understanding of inventory systems
    • 3-5 years experience in food/grocery related merchandising
    • Minimum 3 years in a hospitality leadership role
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Personal vehicle for ease of getting around to all client sites throughout the Bay Area
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Excellent written and communication skills
    • Dedication to providing excellent customer service
    • Ability to think outside of the box and find creative solutions
    • Excellent computer skills - including Excel and Google Suite
    • Ability to analyze and interpret data, and turn data into actionable insights
    • Desire to learn about food systems, production, and sustainability

$83,200 - $83,200 a year
Competitive wages in an equitable tiered pay structure for all positions. Non-Negotiable.
Schedule & Expectations
Typical schedules are Monday through Friday with hours dependent on the service. You are responsible for managing your own schedule, with your manager.
Position includes required client site visits periodically, and travel will be required in between our 2 S&D warehouse locations as needed.
