SUMMARY: Daily's Premium Meats is seeking a dynamic and experienced Shipping Supervisor to lead and manage our shipping team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient, safe, and accurate handling of all shipping operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, a commitment to operational excellence, and the ability to drive team performance and retention.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following: (other duties may be assigned)

• Assist Shipping Manager in providing day-to-day leadership and management for all employees in the department.
• Identify and implement opportunities for enhancement and process improvement ideas to Shipping Manager
• Assign, direct and monitor work performed by direct report employees.
• Responsible for meeting established departmental goals and KPI's.
• Responsible for following and performing set loading procedures and accuracy of loads.
• Monitor and oversee both outgoing and incoming shipping activities to assure everything that is received or shipped out meets proper specifications.
• Must maintain department organization for efficient product flow – inbound and outbound.
• Complete all forms and/or reports accurately and timely
• Must be able to work swing shifts and varying hours as required
• Must possess strong communication and decision-making skills and be able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• Must oversee a safe work environment and adhere to company safety guidelines
• Carry out regular inventory reconciliation of supplied materials
• Responsible for ensuring all proper training is completed for all employees on time.
• Other activities as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: H.S. or equivalent education with 5 or more years shipping and or material handling and inventory experience, or combination of education and experience. Food industry experience is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence. Must be able to effectively present information before groups, within the organization. Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. Ability to perform necessary calculations for completion of row counts for shipping and daily time sheets

OTHER SKILLS: Must be computer literate with intermediate skills in Excel. Must have advanced skills with forklifts, electric pallet jacks and other power equipment associated with the shipping department.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be able to make decisions on routine matters utilizing company policies and procedures and directions from upper management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must be able to regularly lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have adequate eyesight and hearing to be able to recognize hazards to equipment and personnel. Full range of motion in extremities to allow proper movement and handling of product. Must be able to walk or stand for at least 90% of assigned shift.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to wet, cold and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually at a level where OSHA required hearing protection is required.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Must be available to work as scheduled – including Saturday, Sunday, and off-shift.
