POSITION SUMMARY : Under the direction of the Crew Foreman, the Micro-Surfacing Driver safely operates and maintains micro-surfacing equipment to resurface roads.
DUTIES
- Maintain and clean assigned truck and perform daily pre and post trip inspections.
- Report any truck mechanical problems to maintenance division.
- Obey all traffic laws and ensure a safe and healthful work environment at all times.
- Assist other employees and work with others as a team on a construction crew.
- As needed, operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance.
- Must have CDL-A with Tanker and Doubles or Triples endorsements; current DOT Medical Card; and a clean, insurable driving record.
- Able to work well with others in a team environment and follow instructions.
- Able to move at least 100 pounds.
- Willing to work long hours, including the possibility of working out of town for extended periods of time.
- Able to work in extreme outdoor temperatures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / SAFETY :
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
- Sitting : 50% of time
- Standing : 20% of time
- Driving : 30% of time
- Weight Lifted : Must frequently be able to lift and carry up to 65 pounds. May occasionally lift items above their head.
- Physical Movement : May frequently be required to walk over uneven ground, balance, stoop / crouch, kneel, grab and hold objects.
- Speaking / Listening : Needs to be able to communicate well with customers, dispatch, supervision, receive and follow instructions, and understand safety requirements.
- Working Conditions : 40% of time will be spent working outside in the elements. Must be able to work long and irregular hours (early and late) during the busy season.
