Work Shift:

Capital Health Medical Group is made up of more than 250 physicians and other providers who offer primary and specialty care, as well as hospital-based services, to patients throughout the region.

Position Overview:

* Performs safety and infection control techniques and functions in caring for the patient.

* Uses correct techniques and follows standard precautions in applying patient restraints and in transferring patients.

* Follows proper procedures and techniques to prevent falls and injuries.

* Performs a variety of supportive and direct care functions (e.g. basic oxygen therapy, heat and cold applications, basic dressings, antiembolism and sequential pressure stockings).

* Provides personal care (bathing, mouth care, AM/PM care, incontinence care) to patients.

* Collects stool, urine and sputum specimens.

* Provides for nutrition of patients (feeds, monitors tube feedings, calculates input and output, delivers nourishment, counts calories, weighs patients.)

* Performs phlebotomy and stocks phlebotomy and IV trays for unit.

* Performs EKG's and stocks and maintains supplies for the unit.
