PCS People is Hiring a Warehouse Manager Near Baltimore, MD

Description

About The Role 

The full-time warehouse manager leads our warehouse operations. This process and management focused position will play an integral role in team leadership, operational execution and ensure the continued success of the PCs for People. The warehouse manager will facilitate communication and coordinate work between warehouse staff, volunteers, and other community-based workgroups to ensure organizational goals, standards and compliance are continually met. This position may include, but are not limited to, the following types of duties.

Key Role Responsibilities

Compliance / Maintenance

  • Ensure all electronics are being handled, processed, and reported in compliance with PCs for People’s NAID, R2, ISO 14001 and 18001 policies
  • Maintenance of R2 Mass Balance Sheets to include weights of all inbound/outbound materials
  • Ensure ongoing DOT reporting and compliance
  • Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising leadership on needed actions
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
  • Maintain a building and equipment maintenance/housekeep schedule and ensure it is followed
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts

Material Handling

  • Coordinate with the Account Manager to assure recycling pickups exceed customer expectations 
  • Coordinate with technician and customer service managers to assure inventory and quality meet requirements 
  • Lead the warehouse time to exceed required NAID processing timelines and security requirements
  • Ensure accurate inventory management and inventory processing 
  • Identify additional recycling categories to increase value
  • Create new process flows to improve efficiency

Finance and Staffing

  • P&L Responsibility of multiple revenue streams
  • Maintain warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, developing and training employees
  • Be a hands-on team leader working beside staff to continuously improve processes and culture
  • Monitor team’s performance to ensure short team and long term objectives are met
  • Resolve issues and roadblocks for team members
  • Foster a positive work environment by building camaraderie amongst the team
  • Review and approve timecards for team
  • Other duties as assigned or necessary

Warehouse Management

  • Maintain supplies, personal protective equipment, and tools to ensure compliance and safety
  • Sort through newly inventoried product and store in the proper area
  • Keep the warehouse areas organized while maximizing floor space and efficiency
  • Assign warehouse to work on projects such as monitor testing, PC testing, scrapping, etc.
  • Ensure walkways in the warehouse areas are clean and swept at all times
  • Support surplus sales inventory and testing 
  • Keep the warehouse areas free from empty gaylords, pallets, and unused cardboard
  • Other duties as assigned or necessary

Requirements

Desired Skills/Qualifications

  • 3 years of warehouse management experience
  • Works well with a team, must be an excellent coach, communicator and team builder
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and confidently based on organization's policies
  • Able to work independently, be dependable, adaptable
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Ability to self-direct tasks/activities and problem solve independently
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Maintain a professional but friendly demeanor
  • Demonstrate familiarity with basic computer programs, such as Word and Excel
  • Pays close attention to detail
  • Respond calmly and professionally to emergencies, angry customers, or other stressful situations in the workplace
