Instrumentation Engineer

Overview:

Pasadena, TX: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a skilled Instrumentation Engineer to join our client’s team. As an Instrumentation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support to the instrumentation activities of the HDPE and HAD plant, focusing on improving reliability and ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards are met.

Essential Duties:

· Provide technical support to the Maintenance I&E Supervisor, I&E Planner, I&E technicians, Analyzer technicians, and DCS specialists.

· Review plant systems’ performance and recommend changes for operation, maintenance, or testing.

· Assist in troubleshooting instrumentation problems and optimizing PMs and maintenance strategies.

· Lead root cause investigations into controls and instrument reliability problems.

· Prepare and review engineering documents, including data sheets, loop drawings, and specifications.

· Assist with planning and execution for planned and unplanned outages.

· Perform field troubleshooting and work outside in all weather conditions as necessary.

Requirements/Skills:

· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Controls/Automation Engineering (other engineering/technical degrees considered based on experience).

· 2 or more years of related experience in plant environment.

· Experience with control valves, level, pressure, and temperature instruments, DCS, and PLC systems.

· Extensive knowledge of instrumentation and analyzer systems.

· Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and SAP.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to work in a chemical processing environment.

· Willingness to work overtime, including alternative shifts, and respond to emergencies on short notice.
