ABOUT THIS ROLE
The role of a Maintenance Supervisor with Wawona Frozen Foods is responsible for leading the maintenance department to ensure an efficient, high quality, cost-effective operating facility. They are responsible for assigning work as well as managing projects in the facility. They will work closely with the Maintenance Manager and other techs using their expertise to troubleshoot, repair, install, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment around the facility.
DUTIES INCLUDE
  • Active participation in Wawona Frozen Foods' Safety program to maintain a healthy and injury-free environment.
  • Participate in training and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth.
  • Compliance with all GMP, HAACP, Food Safety, Food Defense, and SQF policies and procedures.
  • Empowered to notify and/or act in response to any issues or concerns within the scope of work.
  • Wear all the required personal protective equipment.
  • Assigns or ensures that other employees in the department have sufficient work and/or works with supervisor or manager.
  • Expert ability to perform and Total Productive Maintenance in any equipment that include but are not limited to repair or replacement of: Bearings, Bushings, Shafts, Gear Boxes, Greasing, Lubing, etc.
  • Intermediate ability to perform and understand electrical work, including but not limited to 480V wiring of motors and components, Low voltage wiring of control circuits and other components, and development of simple operating circuits with relays and other electrical components.
  • Advance ability to read, understand and troubleshoot using schematics or other engineering drawings.
  • Expert ability to assess issues, troubleshoot and develop proper counter measures.
  • Expert ability to weld and fabricate components needed to improve or repair a process.
  • Entry level ability to do simple I/O troubleshooting on the control systems, including, timers, and other control systems utilized to operate and control equipment.
  • Inspects systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalency or specialized training from a technical school in which a certificate was obtained.
  • 4 years of experience in maintenance operations
  • Strong listening and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues or problems.
  • Ability to lead projects from inception to implementation, developing plans and follow-up.
  • Strong team building, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Computer skills ability to navigate Microsoft 365 products.
  • Ability to read and understand schedules, contracts, and other reports.
LOCATION
  • This position will work out of our Cedar or Alluvial location.

PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
  • Work in an environment where there can be medium to loud noise and in cold temperatures.
  • Stand and walk, feel, reach with hands and arms. Occasionally requested to sit and talk or hear.
  • A fast-paced environment that requires high attention to details and minimal down time.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Work flexible/varying schedules to support the team, customers, and deadlines.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision and ability to see all colors.
  • You will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and vibration.
  • Wear appropriate personal protection equipment and adhere to dress code as outlined for working in a food manufacturing facility.
