1. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· The Extrusion Operator is responsible for producing quality extruded sheet. This would include checking product quality and recording production data.
· Responsible for setting up process conditions to standards, changing screen changer screen, cleaning vacuum pump filters as directed by the extrusion technician and monitoring material conveying system alarms to avoid resin outages.
· Responsible for identifying process/equipment problems and assisting the Extrusion Technician in making adjustments as directed.
· Responsible for weighing finished pallets, printing labels and scanning in production.
· Responsible for monitoring raw material and finished goods staging and disposition. Supplies materials to the line (pallets, other packaging materials and resin gaylords.
· Stacks sheet, bands pallets and off loads regrind into storage silos.
· Responsible for cleaning out blenders, hoppers, clogged resin lines, edge trim grinder and making screen changes as needed.
· Moves scrap, pallets, product and purge to appropriate areas for grinding and shipping.
· Performs other related duties and responsibilities as directed by the Extrusion Technician.
· Adheres to all safety and good housekeeping regulations. Ensures area is kept clean and well maintained.
· Must maintain regular and consistent attendance.
2. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIE This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.
3. EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· Must be able to work Monday through Wednesday 7pm to 7am
· Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing settings. Prefer at least 6 months of experience working with an extrusion process.
· Ability to read and interpret job language, dial gauges, calipers, and tape measures. Ability to interface with the computerized production reporting system to print labels and log in/out of production jobs
· Basic arithmetic skills.
· Forklift certification
· Have the ability to communicate clearly with other line personnel.
· Ability to work with other employees to resolve problems regarding product / process quality issues.
· Position requires willingness to work a flexible work schedule during day or nighttime periods.
· Basic mechanical aptitude
4. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to fingers, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
