Your Role as a Software Engineer (Mid-Level)
Analyze, evaluate, design, develop, create, modify, customize and enhance data-driven, web-based enterprise software applications and/or specialized utility programs for public health related systems. Duties include:
- Develop and improve existing functionalities in Java, Spring, SQL, and other reporting tools.
- Participate in product design reviews, and provide input on functional requirements, designs, schedules, potential problems and software documentation to ensure technical accuracy and completeness.
- Perform automated and manual testing (Unit testing, ADA testing, etc).
- Collaborate with external parties and other teams and identify appropriate technologies to provide product/process stability or improvement.
- Participate in the entire Software Development lifecycle using Agile framework (Scrum).
- Utilize knowledge of design methodologies and best practices to develop software systems.
Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely-related field, plus 2 years experience as a Software Engineer/Developer or closely-related position. Experience, which can have been gained concurrently, must include at least two years of experience in the following:
- Developing web-based enterprise software applications or tools using: Java/J2EE and/or React/ES6.
- Working with Spring, Spring Boot, and/or Hibernate frameworks.
- Working on UI Testing or UI Development using HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
- Using AWS services for development, deployment and supporting the developed software solutions.
- Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for build and deployment.
