Marvel Entertainment is Hiring a Content Programming Specialist Near New York, NY

Marvel Unlimited is a one-stop destination for over 30,000 comics spanning the entire Marvel Universe. The Content Programming Specialist for the Marvel Unlimited comic subscription app and web service plays a key role in programming, creating, writing, editing, and loading all editorial related to the Marvel Unlimited product using a variety of CMS tools. Copywriting responsibilities include comic articles creation for Marvel.com, Reading Guides, press packages for the Communications team, and any copy related to featured components and content modules in the Marvel Unlimited app. This role also builds and maintains the schedule for all new comic releases in Marvel Unlimited.

In addition to editorial planning, this role partners closely with the Marvel Unlimited Marketing, Design and Social teams by providing creative direction, developing story boards, and sourcing imagery for the development of comic-focused campaigns.

This role acts as liaison with Marvel’s Publishing Operations team to schedule and maintain the digital comics catalog on Marvel.com for Marvel Unlimited and weekly on-sale comics.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Daily and weekly curation of Marvel Unlimited app and web service.
  • Build and maintain Marvel Unlimited comic release schedule.
  • Schedule and create articles with SEO and Audience Development interest.
  • Maintain comics section on Marvel.com.
  • Provide creative direction, develop storyboard and source assets for Marvel Unlimited sell pages and paid social.
  • Collaborate and source content for CRM team for newsletters and thematic messaging campaigns.
  • Work on Marvel Unlimited retention programming including Reading Quests and weekly Reading Guides incentivized by points.
  • Source editorial metadata and provide editorial support for Marvel’s Infinity Comics.
  • Work with the product and engineering teams to improve current processes and troubleshoot CMS issues.
  • Project management and activation of custom comic and licensed publishing projects as needed.

Additional Qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience in digital content.
  • Superior editing and writing skills for narrative-driven content.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms and content workflows.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Data-driven mindset.
  • Excellent organizational, project planning, presentation, and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive thinker ability to thrive in a sometimes ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, After Effects) is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage several projects at once and work under pressure.
  • A rockstar with no ego. You give credit to others where credit is due and take responsibility for misses when they rest with you.
  • Passion for Marvel comics and a finger on the current comic landscape
The hiring range for this position in New York is $73,185 to $98,175 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
