Position Summary

The School Engagement Liaison is responsible for developing and executing recruitment strategies to increase participation in Girl Scouts within designated school districts. Understanding the unique needs of girls in diverse communities, you will work to remove barriers that prevent girls from benefiting from Girl Scouts. Must have a strong focus on building new and creative initiatives to expand Girl Scouting in partnership with local schools and community-based organizations.

The ideal candidate is comfortable with public speaking, highly personable, well-organized and leading community-level conversations. Demonstrate cultural competence and sensitivity in working with diverse populations within school communities, including students, families, and staff from different backgrounds and identities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Develop strategies that support access to Girl Scouts in diverse communities; testing and scaling potential opportunities for improving membership growth across council jurisdiction.

· Build relationships with school leadership, after-school programs, faculty, student body, and parents to support after-school Girl Scouts in targeted schools.

· Provide training and support to school staff, teachers, and volunteers on implementing Girl Scouts curriculum and activities, including leadership development, outdoor skills, and community service.

· Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Girl Scouts programs in school settings, collect feedback from participants, and generate reports to assess impact and identify areas for improvement.

· Advocate for the importance of girls' leadership development and the benefits of Girl Scouts programs within the educational community, including advocating for resources and support from school administrators and policymakers.

· Develop strategies for recruiting new Girl Scouts members within schools and retaining existing members, including outreach efforts, recruitment drives, and retention activities.

· Working effectively and inclusively with girls and adults from a variety of different backgrounds, including creating environments where all girls are welcomed and celebrated.

· Ensure compliance with Girl Scouts policies and procedures, as well as any relevant school regulations, and maintain accurate documentation of program activities, participant data, and partnerships.

· Attend assigned school district-related events to promote and build partnerships.

· Conduct timely follow-up on new leads and referrals.

· Promote and assist with Council-wide programs, activities, public relations, and fund development endeavors.

Education or Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in education, recreation, nonprofit management, volunteer management, social work, sales, or related field. Other combinations of education, with relevant experience that demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position, will be considered.

· 2 years of experience in community relations, recreation, youth programming, education, recruitment, sales and marketing, or other relevant areas.

· Bilingual preferred, but not required.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, experience working with cloud-based platforms, and Salesforce preferred.

· High capacity to master and leverage data tracking platforms.

· Highly organized and detail-oriented with a bias towards execution and action.

· Outstanding project management skills and operates with an entrepreneurial, solutions-oriented mindset.

· Skilled relationship builder with a demonstrated ability to motivate and collaborate effectively across every level of the organization.

· A proactive team player willing to pitch in at all levels while also holding a big-picture, systems-thinking mindset.

· Exceptional written and verbal communicator.

· Strong work ethic with a high degree of curiosity and a learning orientation; someone who leads and operates with a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion.

· Be or become a registered member of the Girls Scouts of the United States of America; have a working knowledge of Girl Scout philosophy and programming and be committed to the Girl Scout mission. Prior Girl Scout experience is not required.

Other Requirements

· Must be able to occasionally work irregular hours, including nights and weekends.

· Anticipated time away from the office is 25%.

· Possess a valid driver’s License and proof of insurance.

· Must be able to work both in an office setting and independently off-site.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to withstand:

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Operate office equipment manually.

· Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds at times.
