The salary range for this role, based in New York is $166,200 to $228,600, range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate's experience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.
Position Summary
The Brand Director Cdigo will be responsible for leading strategic and brand plan development/implementation, supply, operational and innovation launch plan development, and monitoring for Cdigo. He/she will exhibit a general manager mindset and will be responsible for leading key projects that will aim to achieve two critical goals; a) build brand equity and, b) drive brand performance through long term profitable growth both in the US and globally.
This exciting role requires a dynamic Brand Director who has a strong strategic, marketing, commercial and operational mindset, who is consumer centric and can balance thinking strategically with the key execution priorities on the business including but not limited to the following:
  • Strategic Planning: Lead and guide the team through the annual strategic planning process. Interpreting global and local digital ambitions as well as assessing the broader digital and consumer context to identify gaps and opportunities for the portfolio and/or brands.
  • Collaboration & Engagement: Partnering with the agencies and cross functional teams to drive the communication strategy and vision to develop platforms/executions that maximize business results. Identifying the right agency mix needed for the business and brand needs.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Develop, deliver, and iterate plans continuously with a resourceful, obsessive, and fearless mindset with a focus on proving the case for brand expansion.
  • Agile: Results-orientation and ability to operate with agility to run with test and learn approach.
  • Research: Identify, lead and guide team through perform analysis/construct research programs and derive implications to ensure marketing programs/expenditures meet KPIs. Consistently seek to improve our efficiency and effectiveness by sharing learnings across the team.
  • Trends Analysis and Implications: Identify, lead and guide team through the development of trends reporting and analysis to identify opportunities, risks and recommend changes to creative mindset based on algorithm changes by platforms and changes in privacy laws.
  • Training and People Development: Manage direct reports and train and develop them into strong brand experts and leaders while also creating a culture of creativity, learning and experimentation within the broader AWC Marketing team.
Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities
  • Act as day-to-day general manager; develop brand Annual Operating Plan and Consumer Engagement Platform; Manage brand P&L, drive A&P spend guidelines Collaborate with SVP on AWC portfolio strategy projects and opportunities.
  • Lead development of communication and platform strategy for the brands and the asset creation plan to support it. Manage agency roster recommendations and opportunities.
  • Lead and guide development of national programs/strategies with flexibility and global/local adaptation in mind; work with Innovation Hub on supporting brand innovation plans; deliver brand digital strategy/media engagement plans.
  • Ensure cultural sensitivity and inclusiveness of brand programs, in coordination with Director of Multicultural & Inclusivity.
  • Guide always-on tracking of traditional and digital media strategies / trends, demand territories and occasions, and brand perceptions.
Job Requirements
The role requires a highly motivated self-starter with strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to collaborate effectively across functions with passion and enthusiasm. Strong entrepreneurial ability to work around obstacles, results driven, and a bias for action with a pilot/learn/scale approach. The ideal candidate will have the ability to marry strategy with creative by helping to lead the digital transformation, brand growth and momentum.
Other requirements include:
  • Must be able to both lead and influence teams
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and executive presentation skills
Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree (or equivalent); MBA or advanced degree preferable
Experience / Background: 8 years of business experience, with experience in a senior level role in brand, media agency or advertiser and working on the customer side. The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing entrepreneurial, challenger or founder brands with small to medium A&P spends. Must have solid experience developing strategies grounded in insights and analytics, while also being comfortable leaning into ambiguity to develop hypothesis. Must have experience in managing and partnering with a broad set of stakeholders in matrix organization as well as external agency partners. Must have experience managing financials and business performance including budget management. Ideal candidate will have previous experience in e-commerce, digital, websites, CRM and media.
This position may travel up to 25% of the time.
