AGENCY OVERVIEW:

Huckleberry Youth Programs (HYP) is a critical provider of essential safety net services for youth and their families in San Francisco and Marin County. RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Residential Manager is responsible, under the supervision of the Program Director, for facilitating the day to day operations of the shelter program. Responsibilities include the supervision of residential staff, the coordination of the staff schedule, and the recruitment and training of staff. The Residential Manager is also the primary point person for facility maintenance, equipment repairs, and the purchasing of needed supplies. The Residential Manager will also perform outreach activities in the community and participate in the on-call pager program. The position also involves interfacing with youth and their families providing them with assessment and case management services. This is a full-time, afternoon shift, 40 hours/week (including evening and occasional weekend hours) reporting to the Program Director.


DUTIES:

  • Assist in the recruitment and hiring of residential staff.

  • Supervise assigned residential staff.

  • Conduct regular supervision meetings with assigned staff.

  • Coordinate staff schedules.

  • Assist in training of residential staff

  • Attend Agency and Management team meetings.

  • Review case plans and other client-related documentation in conjunction with the program case manager.

  • Assist Program Director with outreach to community agencies and collaboration partners citywide.

  • Work emergency coverage as needed which could include evening, weekends and holidays.

  • Coordinate petty cash and other house accounts.

  • Participate in on call back-up pool for program.

  • Conduct weekly inventory of household supplies (food, cleaning supplies, office, other) and arrange for needed items to be purchased.

  • Manage maintenance of facility and equipment.

  • Ensuring that ONE System is up to date in real time

  • Ensure all CCL regulations are adhered to by staff and as they pertain to the facility.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Acquire Community Care Licensing Administrator Certificate and maintain CCL license.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field required.

  • Minimum of three years experience in working with youth from marginalized communities or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in a residential setting or equivalent experience required.

  • Two (2) years managing staff or interns, particularly those at the beginning of their careers.

  • 1-3 years experience in case management for adolescents and their families.

  • Highly organized with ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Valid first Aid/CPR must be obtained within 3 months of hire.

  • Criminal Justice Clearance as required by agency, and CCL.

  • Valid CA’s Drivers License, clean DMV record, and 2 years of previous driving experience required.

  • Commitment to obtain the California Group Home Administrator Certification within six months of hire.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position works at Huckleberry House. This role routinely includes driving and transporting youth. The position also includes the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Huckleberry House is located in San Francisco and is accessible by public transportation.
