The New York Times is Hiring a Senior Technical Product Manager, Developer Experience Near New York, NY

The New York Times is looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to join our Delivery Engineering (DV) Mission to improve developer experience for all NYT Developers. You will guide the development of services on AWS and GCP cloud platforms, be responsible for infrastructure improvements, develop developer experiences to improve the resiliency of NYT experiences across all platforms.
About the Role
Delivery Engineering supports 500 engineers across 90 product engineering teams within the Times. These teams range from developing interactive experiences with the newsroom to storytelling and publishing to standalone products like Games, Cooking, and so much more. Our goal is to enable all product engineering teams to deliver new features without worrying about how these features are deployed in production. This role empowers our engineering teams to feel confident supporting, managing, and maintaining critical services throughout the year. Our goal is to build a best-in-class Operational engineering experience for all developers at NYT.
You will report to the Vice President of Product, Developer Experience, working in a product team with a developer experience-focused mission. This role is based in New York.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the product strategy, roadmap, and execution for a platform pillar, identifying opportunities aligned with user needs, technical capabilities, and our goals.
  • Employ user feedback and platform metrics to drive system designs and product prioritization.
  • Experience communicating complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences, launches roadmap status, and platform performance across the organization.
  • Scope technical requirements and write product briefs and specifications with Github, JIRA, and other tools
  • Oversee and communicate performance metrics and provide insight to lead product development recommendations.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 5 years of relevant product management experience
  • 5 years of technical experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience managing and improving the developer experience for digital products.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes, tools, and technologies.
  • Experience working with APIs and developer platforms.
  • Using compelling storytelling abilities influences others by instilling trust and establishing credibility.
  • Experience communicating product updates, milestones, and progress to internal and external partners with partners of multiple corporate levels
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.

The annual base pay range for this role is between:
$140,000-$160,000 USD
