Leonardo Electronics US Inc. is Hiring a Director, Finance and Accounting Near Huntsville, AL

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Finance and Accounting to join our leadership team. This pivotal role will oversee our financial operations, ensuring fiscal health and transparency. The successful candidate will bring a robust financial acumen, coupled with a proven track record of leading accounting teams to excellence. As the steward of our financial strategy, you will play a critical role in shaping our company's future, driving efficiency, and fostering integrity in all financial matters.

Job Description:

  • Oversee the financial strategic planning of the organization by evaluating its performance and potential risks.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Lead the preparation of all financial reporting, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
  • Supervise and manage the finance and accounting team, including accountants, financial analysts, and support staff.
  • Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts to support business decisions.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the organization's accounting records and financial systems.
  • Manage cash flow and forecasting, directing all financial, project-based, and departmental accounting.
  • Coordinate the development of the annual operating budget and conduct monthly reviews to ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance, and non-organizational accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities.
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Lead the discussion and negotiations with financial service providers for lines of credit or other financial services as required and appropriate.
  • Advise on long-term business and financial planning, including analysis of investment activities and portfolio management.
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in followed


Job Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and financial regulations
  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis, accounting, and budgeting
  • Proficient in financial management software and advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with corporate governance and business ethics
  • Proven ability to manage finance for a multi-unit organization
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience in optimizing financial processes and implementing best practices
  • Knowledge of tax planning and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions, investors, and stakeholders
  • Experience in conducting risk management and creating financial strategies
  • Willingness to stay updated with industry trends and changes in regulations

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA)
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in finance and accounting
