**The Opportunity**

In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in engineering and design of the HVAC and plumbing systems in various types of facilities.

?The HVAC Team is engaged in the following:

Design and Construction Activities

Project Delivery Methods - Traditional Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Conceptual-Bid-Build.

Facility Types Power Generation buildings, Substations, Oil & Gas structures and Energy Storage buildings.

Systems HVAC and Plumbing.

Type of Areas Power Generation Hall, Administrative, Warehouse, Maintenance, Workshop, Laboratory, Chemical Storage & Handling, Electrical Distribution Center, Low & Medium Voltage Switchgear, Pump Areas, Engine Generator, Blowers/Air Compressors, and Flammable & Combustible Liquids Storage.

Studies

Energy Audit/Efficiency - Engineering studies, system performance reviews, and energy compliance calculations

Code Review/Application - Facility review for code compliance

Sustainable Design/LEED - Application of sustainable strategies

Functions as a technical specialist or in a lead role. Under general direction, develops and applies advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to complex engineering problems. May provide technical guidance over a group or supervise engineering staff on projects of low to medium complexity. May be responsible for developing, validating, and presenting specialist/technical output.

The Mechanical Buildings Design Group provides HVAC and plumbing solutions for Black & Veatchs3 market sectors- Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial. In in this role, you will be engaged with exciting projects across the globe.?From small community improvements to grand-scale Mega Projects, you will be Building a World of Difference through infrastructure growth and development while learning and focusing on your own individual development. **Preferred Qualifications**

Basic knowledge of the following areas:

NFPA standards

Computer generated HVAC Heatloads, energy modeling and HVAC equipment sizing

Technical Submittal reviewing process Bid reviewing process

Microsoft Office Suite

Bluebeam Revu

Person needs to be a LEED AP certified professional experienced in obtaining LEEDs certification for industrial buildings.

Extensive experience with large-scale water-cooled chillers is preferred. ??

International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes

ASHRAE Handbooks / Standards

ASPE design handbooks

SMACNA Standards

**Minimum Qualifications**

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 8 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
