A Student Loan Advisor is an essential role in the world of higher education and finance. This position plays a crucial role in helping students navigate the complex world of student loans. The main responsibility of a Student Loan Advisor is to guide students through the process of managing student loans, while also educating them on their rights and responsibilities as borrowers. This requires the ability to decipher complex financial jargon and regulations.

Student Loan Advisors play a vital role in financial literacy education of student borrowers. Many students are not familiar with financial concepts such as budgeting, interest rates, and credit scores. Student Loan Advisors help students understand the impact of borrowing money and how to make smart financial decisions. They also educate students on the importance of responsible borrowing and the consequences of defaulting on loans.Another important aspect of the Student Loan Advisor role is providing ongoing support and assistance to students throughout their loan repayment journey. This includes helping students understand their repayment options, such as income-driven repayment plans, consolidation, and deferment. Student Loan Advisors also assist students in resolving any issues or concerns they may have with their loans, such as changing repayment plans or addressing unexpected financial challenges.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a background screening
• Ability to pass drug screening
• Ability to provide federal student loan status
• If any federal student loans: must be in good standing or current and on payment plan*
• Current on filing all taxes and in good standing with no unpaid taxes for any filing year
• No felony convictions
• No misdemeanor convictions that involve violence, theft or weapons
• No open or active court cases
• Must be a U.S. citizen (natural or otherwise)
• Registered for selective service (males)
• Typing speed of 35 WPM or better
• Basic computer skills
