Job Description: Jet Vac/Hydro Excavation Truck Operator

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Jet Vac/Hydro Excavation Truck Operator to join our team. As a Jet Vac/Hydro Excavation Truck Operator, you will be responsible for operating specialized vehicles used in excavation and cleaning activities. Your primary focus will be on using high-pressure water and vacuum systems to safely excavate and remove debris from underground utility lines and other areas. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Operate Jet Vac/Hydro Excavation Truck:

* Drive and operate the Jet Vac/Hydro Excavation truck in a safe and efficient manner.

* Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in proper working condition and report any maintenance requirements.

* Use high-pressure water systems to break up and remove soil, rocks, and other debris surrounding utility lines.

* Operate the vacuum system to extract and collect the excavated material for proper disposal.

2. Ensure Safety and Compliance:

* Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a hazard-free work environment.

* Adhere to traffic regulations and maintain awareness of surroundings while operating the Jet Vac/Hydro Excavation truck.

* Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) during all work activities.

* Identify and report any potential hazards or unsafe conditions to management promptly.

3. Support Maintenance and Repairs:

* Perform routine maintenance on the Jet Vac/Hydro Excavation truck, such as checking oil levels, changing filters, and cleaning the equipment.

* Report any vehicle malfunctions or defects to the supervisor for necessary repairs.

* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.

4. Collaborate with Team:

* Coordinate with the crew members, including spotter and other equipment operators, to ensure efficient excavation operations.

* Communicate effectively with team members to complete tasks safely and accurately.

* Assist and cross-train in other areas of the operation as necessary.

Requirements:

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with tanker endorsement.

* Proven experience operating Jet Vac/Hydro Excavation trucks or similar equipment.

* Strong knowledge of excavation procedures and proper use of high-pressure water and vacuum systems.

* Ability to read and interpret maps, diagrams, and work orders.

* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

* Attention to detail, with the ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.

* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

* Physical stamina to perform tasks requiring frequent bending, climbing, and lifting.
