At Concept Systems, our Project Manager will manage a portfolio of automation projects ranging from $200,000 to $2 million in value from proposal development, into project kick-off and through customer acceptance. Our Project Manager will work in partnership with and oversee multiple individuals simultaneously on their project team(s) including company engineers, subcontractors, and other members of a multi-disciplined engineering team. In addition to implementing traditional project management methodologies, responsibilities including coaching and mentoring the project team to assist them in the problem solving and execution of their roles.

The compensation range for this position is $115,000 to $135,000. Compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to experience and skillset, educational level, location, industry knowledge, and applicable certifications or credentials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Project Management essentials: manage the customer, cost, scope, schedule, people, and process.

2. Lead in a way that inspires your team members, executes projects with precision, and delivers real results for your customers.

3. Monitor and control progress costs and schedules.

JOB DUTIES

  • Must be able to complete a major project in a timely manner ensuring that the schedule completion is achieved on time.
  • Ensure that the company’s Project Methodology is followed at all times.
  • Ensure that the definition, engineering, and integration of the project are completed in a safe manner resulting in zero accidents to personnel, zero unplanned interruptions to plant operations and zero environmental events.
  • Lead technical design and engineering of projects to conforming to all applicable codes and standards.
  • Negotiate changes in scope with customers.
  • Prepare periodic management reports and presentations as required for communication within and beyond the project team.
  • Facilitate project meetings.
  • Define requirements then select materials, equipment, project staff, and contractors including negotiating and managing contracts for external suppliers.
  • Work closely in a team atmosphere with various functional roles in the routine and non-routine engineering, design, and integration of automated manufacturing systems.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the project comply with all government regulations.

SKILLS

  • Excellent customer relationship skills
  • Minimum of 3 years of broad-based project management and project controls experience with an emphasis on people management and development.
  • Strong Project Management skills managing major projects with a proven track record for safety performance, scope control, cost management, and schedule control.
  • Strong desire to work in a leading-edge industrial environment with a focus on controls and automation with knowledge of appropriate design codes and standards.
  • Project Management certification or training is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment and with other groups such as Manufacturing, Procurement, Operations and Quality Assurance.
  • Ability to learn and become proficient in the use of ERP software.
  • General computer skills (e.g., Office 365 and project planning software).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field from four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PMP preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Job requires specialized computer skills. Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, graphics, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail and use scheduling software. Ability to learn and use computerized accounting system. Knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint preferred.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • A valid insurable Driver’s License is required.
  • 15 - 20% Travel required.
