The Mercatus Center at George Mason University is hiring a Program Manager for the Monetary Policy and Financial Regulation projects. In this role, you would have the opportunity to work with top-tier researchers and scholars. The ideal candidate would have strong project management experience with a passion for innovation and experimentation, as well as a collaborative work environment built by thoughtful challenge, personal respect, and intellectual honesty.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring all Monetary Policy and Financial Regulation research products (working papers, policy briefs, etc.) move through the publication process smoothly.
  • Commissioning original academic research relevant to current monetary policy and financial regulation problems.
  • Working with Monetary Policy and Financial Regulation scholars in developing and updating the project strategic plans.
  • Coordinating with other Mercatus research projects on joint work.
  • Collaborating with the outreach and communication teams in disseminating research to target audiences.
  • Regularly reporting on the Monetary Policy and Financial Regulation projects progress.
  • Serving as the Monetary Policy and Financial Regulation projects main point of contact for both internal and external audiences.
  • Supervising junior team members.
Qualifications:
  • Interest in and some knowledge of monetary policy and financial regulatory issues.
  • 3-4 years of work experience in a similar or complementary setting.
  • A strong appreciation for the mission of the Mercatus Center.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks at the same time.
  • Ability to work independently, quickly, and under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
