Parker Trutec is Hiring a 2nd SHIFT TEAM LEADER Near Springfield, OH

Position Summary: The Team Leader position requires a professional, organized individual with the ability to take ownership of new projects. This role requires management of multiple projects simultaneously, accuracy in daily work, and the ability to meet deadlines in a challenging environment. In compliance with the company direction and to meet customer’s expectation, utilize up to ten workers safely and efficiently to complete the work given for the shift. 

Qualifications (include but are not limited to):

  • Ability to analyze numerical data.
  • Ability to make a judgement and prioritize based on the situation.
  • Capability to lead people to accomplish the given amount of production.
  • Good knowledge of the fixtures, tooling, setting standard time, and basic labor cost in respective area.
  • Ability to detect abnormal situation.
  • Knowledge of how to manage the equipment assigned in the area.
  • Prior leadership experience necessary to understand Business and Operations concepts.
  • Willing to work overtime as needed
  • Flexibility to change shifts and departments
  • Good understanding of the entire process from receiving customer parts until shipment.
  • Good understanding of safety requirement of work area.

Duties (include but are not limited to):

Meeting 

  • Hold safety huddle meetings to provide any critical information to fulltime and temporary associates.
  • Attend monthly associates’ meeting.
  • Review the morning meeting notes and provide critical information to associates. 

Daily Tasks

  • Prioritize tasks and supervise the respective assigned areas, while monitoring shipping and production schedules.
  • Delegate assignments to fulltime associates so they in turn can lead the contract associates, and monitor their progress sequentially
  1. Have the next product ready to ensure delays are not incurred by the associates.
  2. Take attendance before the shift; if there is an absence that affects the production, report to supervisor immediately. 
  • Instruct fulltime associates to work with high accuracy to ensure each process is completed as instructed. Associates should:
    1. Follow progress of production, investigate causes of delays, and initiate corrective actions.
    2. Monitor fixture availability and conditions.
    3. Supply correct tooling to team to complete daily tasks.
    4. Report schedule status to supervisor at beginning and end of shift each day.
    5. Create load analysis sheet to prepare appropriate amount of labor for the next day of operation. 
  • Calculate necessary labor for the next day, generate the load analysis sheet, and order contract labor accordingly.
  • Monitor if the tasks were completed as planned in the load analysis sheet.

Abnormal situation

  • Report to Manager and help find solutions when abnormal situations are found.
  • Report any non-conforming conditions relating to quality to the Engineering group.
  • Report to Supervisor or Manager if any equipment defect affects production. If the equipment defect does not affect the production, fill out the repair request right away. Follow up if it was repaired and ready for production use.
  • Document any concern relating to safety and report to the Safety Manager through your direct supervisor.
  • When an abnormal situation was found, follow the procedure below to report swiftly.

Cooperation

  • Work with all other departments to accomplish the quality standard, production efficiency, and on-time shipment.

5S/ Safety

  • Ensure all associates wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in respective areas, including safety glasses, steel toes, ear plugs where required and company uniforms.
  • Ensure that all safety precautions are exercised before and during shift.
  • Promote 5S daily in assigned areas

Development

  • Promote Kaizen program.
  • Train associates to effectively use ASRS system.
  • Cross train associates.

Leadership

  • Motivate subordinate personnel to achieve the exacting standards for customer satisfaction. 
  • Build positive and professional relationship with coworkers and venders.
  • Deliver company goals and departmental goals to related parties verbally and written form, and keep all others informed. Follow up to ensure the information has delivered.

Additional duties may be required as needed by Parker Trutec and our customers.
